USAID Final Report
Operation Brotherhood Laos began in 1957 as a joint project of Junior Chamber (Jaycee or JC) of Laos and JC Philippines. It was conceived as a short-term medical aid program funded with donations. In October 1962, the International Cooperation Agency (the precursor to the United States Agency for International Development -- USAID) provided full financing of the program as part of its economic aid program to the Royal Government of Laos but officially naming it as a contractor. In 1975 it ended the program when the Provisional Government of National Union took over the country. The following USAID document summarizes the scope and accomplishment of the contract till May 1975.
